Somebody certainly knows to make hay while the sun shines. Taking advantage of AIB’s roast issue, a self-made controversy queen is now trying to hog limelight in the name of All India
AIB Knockout – The Roast of Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Karan Johar has constantly been in the news post their controversial episode was taken off YouTube following protests. Having faced the ire of politicians, Censor Board and many others the All India Bakchod team took off their debut roast video. Now, Poonam Pandey claims she was offered to do a podcast by the AIB team and she REJECTED them!
According to Poonam, AIB members Gursimran Khamba and Tammay Bhat had approached her for a video. However, the Nasha actress felt that it wasn’t in right taste and ‘too demeaning to the women folk’. An internet sensation herself, Poonam is known to put up pictures that strictly caters to an adult audience. Often known to court controversies herself this statement from the babe left us shocked – “I have heard that AIB has been doing some good work, but then some of what I have seen wasn’t really up my alley. The digital medium has been home for me over the last four years, but then I felt that I could not participate in something like this.”
We wonder what is the ‘THIS’, Ms Pandey is referring to. For those of you who have missed Poonam’s achievements, her claim to fame was her offering to strip for Indian cricket team if they won the 2011 World Cup, which they did. Following a whole lot of criticism and pressure from the cops and BCCI the actress had to drop the idea and not her clothes.
While her publicists are trying hard for a makeover it seems Poonam bomb image is stuck to her. In a statement Poonam’s PR revealed, ”We feel that Poonam’s brand on the internet is very one-dimensional right now with viewers only tuning in to access photographs and videos. Most people only know her for being and beyond that there is very limited reach and connect with the audience. We feel if Ms Pandey wants to connect to newer fans who will go beyond just the skin she should engage in more informal gatherings.”
While Poonam’s team claims that ‘she would rather stick to the movies and stay away from controversies of this (AIB) kind’, we cannot help but laugh at their desperate attempt to cash in on yet another hot subject.
